EASA Part-66 licensing is a certification issued by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) for aircraft maintenance engineers. This license is a recognized qualification that certifies an individual has the necessary knowledge, skills, and competence to perform maintenance tasks on aircraft in compliance with EASA standards.
The licensing process involves completing a series of exams (EASA Part-66 modules), which cover a wide range of topics related to aircraft maintenance, such as avionics, structures, systems, and engines. After passing these exams, candidates must also complete practical training and On-the-Job Training (OJT) to gain real-world experience.
There are different categories of Part-66 licenses (such as Category A, B1, and B2), each of which allows the holder to carry out specific types of aircraft maintenance tasks. Once licensed, engineers can work in various roles in the aviation industry, including with airlines, Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) organizations, or other aviation-related businesses.
