Higher Diploma in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (EASA Part-66 Cat B1.1/B2)

The Higher Diploma in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering, structured under the EASA Part-66 framework is based on the B1.1/B2 Licensing pathway. It is an 3 year intensive program designed to provide students with a strong theoretical foundation, practical training, and hands-on experience in real-world aviation environments.
This course prepares students to qualify themselves as successful heavy-base maintenance engineers or avionics engineers.

Diploma in Aircraft Line Maintenance Course (EASA Part-66 Cat A1)

The Diploma in Aircraft Line Maintenance Course is a comprehensive 1-year program that is based on the Category A1 license pathway. This course combines both theoretical and practical experience to prepare candidates for successful careers in the high-demand field of Line Maintenance.




EASA Part-66 Cat A1, B1.1 & B2 License Process

EASA Part-66 Category A1 License (Basic License)

Category A1 is for Line Maintenance engineers, authorized to perform routine maintenance and inspections on aircraft.


EASA Part-66 Category B1.1 License (Mechanical Maintenance)

Category B1.1 is for heavy base, mechanical engineers in aircraft maintenance, focusing on airframes, engines, and mechanical systems.

EASA Part-66 Category B2 License (Avionics)

Category B2 is for Avionics Engineers, who specialize in aircraft electrical and avionics systems, including instruments, navigation, and communication systems.

Summary of the Process for Each License

Duration: 1-3 years
Focus: Line maintenance (routine tasks)
Qualifications: Relevant Diploma + Basic Working Experience

Duration: 3-6 years
Focus: Mechanical and engine maintenance
Qualifications: Relevant Higher Diploma + Basic Working Experience(including Part-66 Modules)

Duration: Typically 2-5 years (with OJT)
Focus: Electrical and avionics systems
Qualifications: Engineering degree in electronics or electrical engineering + OJT

1.Complete Part-66 theoretical modular training.
2.Pass written exams for each module.
3.Complete On-the-Job Training (OJT) in an EASA Part-145 approved facility.
4.Maintain a logbook of working experience.
5.Apply for the license after meeting all criteria.
